November 22, 2000 Dear John, I am writing you to tell you how much Rita and I enjoyed our new home in Lake Toxaway this summer and fall, and to tell you how much we appreciate the good job you did in building it. The quality of the construction and the attention to its details are excellent, as is the end result. We also enjoyed dealing with you and the many subcontractors who worked on the job. We generally were impressed with everyone's skill and effort to do a good job. We particularly appreciated the attention we, and our concerns, received from Steve, who was always helpful in his good humored way. Building a home such as ours is a complex exercise for the out-of-state homeowner and having a contractor who is professional, knowledgeable, responsible and easy to work with makes it much less stressful. Particularly, when one is able to develop a high degree of trust in the contractor. We were fortunate to have found such a contractor in you. We anticipate that the home would cost a little more and take a little longer than was first thought, and when these matters turned out well within the range of reason, we were relieved. We had heard horror stories in this regard, and we attribute our not ending up with such a story to your good work. Thank you for doing such a good job. Yours very truly, John F. Lowndes |
